    Buying an AK online

I havent kept up to date with the new gun laws but we can still buy AKs online and get them sent to our FFL correct? I am looking at buying a WASR so it has a slanted brake which is not considered a flash hider but it has a pistol grip. So the seller just has to remove the pistol grip when they ship it to the FFL right?

Just have your ffl slap a fin grip on it and you'll be good to go

How about just getting the pistol grip removed before shipment?

The gun needs to be compliant before it comes into CA unless you are having the gun ship to a CA dangerous weapons permit holder dealer for the conversion work

The simplest conversion is to remove all the features which would be the pistol grip on a typical WASR-10.
The seller can include the pistol grip with the gun, it just should not be installed on the gun.

An alternative for an AK would be to go fixed magazine by having the seller install a CompMag.
Then you can keep the pistol grip.

Yup, not difficult to shot without a Pistol grip. Add a Phoenix or Zandelay as featureless grip.

Another question, if I get it shipped w/o a pistol grip and I buy a grip with a fin, I dont have to get that sent to an FFL correct? I saw something online that parts to make your rifle ca compliant are now considered gun parts.

+1 on the gun needs to be compliant before it enters the state of CA.
If you know the seller, send them $30 more and a link to the fin grip or a hammer head ( if still legal)

Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
              (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Parts; including compliance parts, now have restrictions on them by the state.

For an online vendor to be able to ship these restricted items, they must now get a copy of your state ID, ship only to the address on your ID and require that YOU sign for the package on delivery. There are vendors that don't want to go through all this extra work to sell to a CA resident. Make sure the vendor you want to buy from will ship to you.

If they won't ship directly to you, they can ship it to your LGS for pick up. You will need to verify with your LGS that they will receive this package and what if any their fee would be for such service.
                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

The nice thing about that is that the buyer could have that sent directly to the OOS vendor to put on the rifle before shipping it. Of course, the OOS vendor would have to be willing to receive it and put it on.

No small print “no sales to California”?
