    I’m a switch-hitter (pun intended)😁

    I like and use both.

I’ve found a few good deals and made one new friend over at CaGuns. CalGuns is still way more fun, and I still find numerous good deals (much more that CaGuns so far). CalGuns has continued to be much easier to use to sell guns. I think this is mostly because CalGuns is so much bigger, and is still easier to navigate.

That’s what this place is for so you can bounce around. The drama mainly is you can see these folks here don’t really like redditors and let them know it. That causes a lot of friction. There’s a reason there’s 110k sub reddit that’s significantly more active than here.

The whole idea was for people to traverse between sites, which most users there do.

it’s also heavily moderated to prevent scammers which we have very few of. That’s where we spend majority of our time. The scuffles are a distraction there but entertainment here.

On top of that, I sense that the Raccoon is not a real 2A advocate, but basically a liberal leaning gun owner/competition sport shooter who runs the site as a marketplace of some kind. You’d be wrong and if you notice that person is no longer there. There’s a reason for that. I run the site as a side gig because there aren’t many options. Reddit and FB can change their rules on a whim and this place isn’t always up.

I could care less for extreme agendas, the goal is to get more people friendlier with 2A specifically with safety and training. There’s a place for people to land when things go south. I’m passionate about the sport and volunteer a lot of time. I don’t care about your politics, what I care about is you’re safe with a firearm and have fun with friends at the range. Everything else is/was gravy.

Lost my feedback, lost the flake filter. This site’s now officially competing with Facebook Marketplace for “most frustrating experience,” assuming it’s even online.

Your site IS Reddit. Anyone that is over 45 can see that quite clearly.😉

Recently I was invited to participate in another pro-2A forum that features much content regarding training, safety, gear, CCW issues, reloading, etc. While there isn’t a ton of non-related political stuff, it is very obvious that the experience level with gun handling is much more than I have seen on other California-based forums. Naturally it is by invitation only, and a reflection on the individual who made a recommendation for inclusion. It would be nice to see more places like that develop, so one can enjoy content without the blathering of what I saw a lot of over on CAGuns. I would also think the left-leaning, pro-9th circuit democrat gun owners would like their very own place as well, to avoid people like myself who call them out.

Your site has its place for sure, but it is far from being comparable to Gen X. We, Gen X, don't get offended and upset about every little thing and certainly don't issues bans and post deletions or be so upset over someone clicking on a laugh emoji on our post that we report them to admins for harassment. There's room in the world for both Caguns and Calguns and I hope both succeed.

Oh, I’m certain there’s Degeneration Xers like us over there, but they are the ones we used to beat up on or exclude (not a term back then.) It wasn’t for no good reason after all, they were either bitches or rats.

I just find it all quite odd that those who openly support democrats, uphold and celebrate the antics of the 9th circuit, make statements akin to claiming laws that politicians pass are constitutional until some court says otherwise, and tear down members of SCOTUS who have upheld the constitution claim to be 2A supporters. IMO, if those folks are 2A supporters, they are in it for only themselves, and NOT you or I. They preach from their ivory towers of academia, looking down on the rest of us. They may be gun owners, and mainly sport shooters, but that does not make them actual 2A supporters; how can they actively support a party that aims to destroy the 2A?…because like it or not, right now, and for many years last, it has been ONE group/party trying to eliminate gun rights for the rest of us. When called out on it, they get all butt-hurt and run to mommy.

That's the unintended consequence when one thinks of the 2nd Amendment as just a "hobby" or social media cosplay trend, and blames guns for violence.

There seems to be quite a few folks over there that do organized weekend shoots, uspsa style or whatever. But the knowledge base seems to be much lower and the passion for freedom lacking. I find freedom and liberty more important than the guns themselves. The general atmosphere there seems to be a lot more "I got mine, don't care about the history, freedom, sacrifice, or trampling of rights." As long as they get to play their weekend games, they don't mind a little (or a lot) rights violations and oppression.

Very well said. I would go even further, as my guess is that being a bay-area centric member base (although I have no hard evidence to suggest, just my read on it), it goes with the territory for those who fit your excellent description. Those folks of leftist persuasion tend to be very outspoken in many life facets, including the whole subject of gun culture in America.

I get the feeling many on that site would blow whistles and screech like those protesting ICE when a Calguns member shows up.

The only thing that is worse than an idiot, is someone who argues with one.
