That’s actually pretty funny. In regards to not naming names, I did state that if anybody was local to the Sacramento area and wanted to know which shop, they could send me a private message. I just don’t need to publicly put the shop on blast because after all, free enterprise, a business owner can do whatever they want, regardless of whether I feel their behavior is ethical or not.

Free enterprise includes customers making the best decision for themselves. Can’t do that if people hide information about dishonest business practices. Not Clickbait. Just a little bit of a rant. I also understand free enterprise and while not illegal, definitely shady.
Just because I don’t want to name, the actual store doesn’t make this Clickbait. I was ranting about something that I saw, but I don’t think that I should make an attempt to affect that guy‘s business. By naming the store publicly. If anyone in the greater placer/ Sacramento county area wants to know, they can pm me. When did Calguns become so damned libtard where if you post videos you get blown out and if you don’t name names you are told your posts are clickbait.NRA-ILA Lawmaker Contact Tool

In the post you are responding to, he says if anyone wants to know the name of the business, send him a PM.
People can PM him.
I'd not call this "hiding", more like just being prudent. Probably what I would do.

Brutal. A $50 blem lower is $172 blem lower otd ($50 item $5 tax $5 special tax $37 dros $75 FFL fee).. so the “you chose to live in CA” tax is 212% ($172 cost in CA vs $55 cost in not ca… $50 item $5 tax)
I was thinking the same thing. Most LGS' transfer fees around here are $100. Some won't even do transfers, as they want to sell guns in their inventory and don't want the hassle of dealing with inbound/storing/failed DROS's. Did I forget the standard tax and additional 11% CA extortion fee? They have to figure that out, and its usually from a typed up invoice, which, they can either choose to believe or not. Yeah, the LGS marked it up and fabricated a story. I've seen far worse than this.
All this can change in November, for sure.
I moved to Tx recently since east bay was starting to feel too unsafe and in my area there are LGS that waive transfer fee as long as you buy certain amount from their store.
so I can buy factory ammo and have all my transfers processed fee free, even NFA items.
good luck to those of you who have to or chose to stay.Comment

My problem with the 1911 platform is that there are so many different manufacturers. To cure my “problem” means that I had to start somewhere, so I elected to start collecting 1911 clones made by other than Colt. And worse, in the last decade there have been even more. Double worse is that I can get off-roster without a premium. It’s like a drug addiction I suppose. And then there are the rare variants, in numerous calibers, finishes, etc. Then the military versions must be covered, from both world wars and beyond. About the only example unrepresented is the Singer, but that’s OK. After that come the compact variants, and then those with some historical significance, such as the SIS models by Kimber. The various “tribute” models that y’all see in the gun rags add further dimension. Of course, no collection should lack some of the Spanish and European variants, yet another shaft down the mine of No Return. Of course, one must eventually cover Colt variants, no shortage their either.
The biggest chore of it all is proper, secure storage, along with full documentation of each piece. Thank goodness the kids like them all; someday they are going to figure out who walks off with what. Of course, the whole pile will be “in the wind” as they say. 😎Comment
