CMP doesn't sell pistols.

My fathers was a bring back as was my grand fathers 1911's. I am sure there are a ton of bring backs.

EDIT: I should have put rifles instead of weapons as I have no clue on the pistols.

I do not believe this. They passed a law a while ago (If I remember Clinton or before) that the USA will never sell any more surplus weapons or ammo beyond what the CMP sells now. (I swear there was a law at least and not just policy)

Rifles for sale at CMP include the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, 1903 and 1903A3 Springfield, 1917 Enfield and the Kimber Model 82 .22 caliber target rifle. Other vintage U.S. military rifles such as the U.S. Krag rifle, the Mann Accuracy Device and others are made available in small numbers on an "as-come" basis.

I could be wrong but I do not think I am.

Its restricted to .30 cal rifles and target rifles .22 in Army inventory, but not M14s for some reason, FA maybe? Maybe just more clinton *** licking. I think the CMP had M14 parts kits for awhile.

The government sold surplus 1911's for years. Someone told me you used to be able to buy them through the mail before 1968. I am not sure when they stopped selling them, but it must have been around the time 'gun control' really hit the big time, sometime around the passage of the GCA and the creation of the FFL system I would imagine.

There was a story on t.v. awhile back about a wealthy pilot somewhere in the South, that had bought an early model Cobra attack helicopter in "parts kit" form. The .gov came back after it when somebody realized that the fire control system hadn't been removed. Fun haters...

I have never heard or DRMO releasing/selling weaponry or tactical items. All I ever saw DRMO had were old office chairs, the occasional refrigerator, busted pressboard desks and wall lockers/carrols.

I would say he is full of it, but there is a chance he did get what he says, but that does not make it legal. There is also the chance he has some stolen goods, as that has happened before. If I were you, I would distance myself from this guy, as something in the story is fishy.

M14 is a class III weapon. Even though relatively few were assembled as full auto, they all have the provision in the receiver for it, and with some relatively inexpensive parts (last time I looked, anyway), you can fix an M14 right up. Of course, unless you get the heavy barrel you'll wind up with a bad case of sag and some smoky wood ...

yeah, I thought he was full of poo poo when he said he had about 35 firearms and 5 tactical shotguns and I asked to see his tacticool shotguns, he said, I don't have at this house, they at my other house, I knew he was full of it..

Did he also tell you he was a Navy Seal or Green Beret and involved in the overthrow of Libya, but he really can't talk about it because he's now working for the CIA? These types of stories often come from self proclaimed special ops people.
