At the NRA, a Battle Between the Old Guard and the New

At the NRA, a Battle Between the Old Guard and the New (the original link to the New York Times is hidden behind a log in screen)

    ?
It wasn't just the anti-gun forces which have blunted the NRA's effectiveness.

Sigh. It's sad what the organization seems to be devolving into. ?

It's from the New York Times, and that gives you reason enough to never believe anything they say about NRA.

What's sad is 75 BOD that watched while Wayne pulled his **** and they did nothing. Change is coming whether the old guard likes it or not.. This years election was only the beginning. They should read the writing on the wall. If the old guard won't change it for the better they are just opening the door for the court to get involved. Lawyers talking about change isn't black and white in writing change and the people in charge know it.

For now, the Judge has rejected a monitor. See... Wayne LaPierre Gets 10 year ban; But No Monitor For NRA

However, a bit more elucidation was provided by The Conversation when they published this today...

...Among other things, Cohen has said that the NRA would benefit from having a smaller board. board is better at its main job: oversight. Having as many board members as the NRA does is inherently unwieldyvery hardwho finally resigned in early 2024.

What the might have looked likeNRA is less powerful than it used to be, and having the government overseeing it might have backfired by rallying its members to its defense...
Now, that's more an opinion than a representation of the actual sentencing decision (which I haven't found a .pdf of yet), but it does express thinking similar to yours; i.e., that change is (or needs to be) in the offing. However, both I and the author of the above piece are a bit dubious it will be the courts who initiate it. Well... At least at the moment.

Uscca started a political action fund, but pretty new so no results that I have been able to find yet

i do still maintain my nra membership; just not inclined to donate more on top of that, until i see evidence the funds are not being misappropriated to fund executives’ lifestyles

CRPA is NRA affiliated, and doing the NRA's work here in California. I don't believe FPC is part of the NRA, but a completely separate organization.
