Wayne LaPierre Gets 10 year ban; But No Monitor For NRA

NY judge hands former NRA head Wayne LaPierre a 10 year ban but declines to appoint monitor

A New York judge on Monday banned Wayne LaPierre, the former head of the National Rifle Association, from holding a paid position with the organization for a decade, but declined to appoint an independent monitor to oversee the gun rights group.

The split decision from Judge Joel Cohen came on the final day of arguments in the second stage

    Oh well. Saw this coming.

I just hope the NRA can be as essential and influential during Trump's campaign for 2024 as they had been in 2016.

However, as of today there has been very little of that in the way of visual presence - and if there is any at all, it's been greatly diminished, if not made null and void by the very powers that sought to attack the NRA along with Wyane LaPierre, if not for this reason alone.

Not only to gut it as a civil-rights organization but to put a wedge between the NRA and any influence it ever had on educating voters regarding just who is trying to abscond their rights and get them thinking about their political decisions.

Google 'NRA' and 'Trump' and only a couple of hits of the same news about his appearance at an NRA rally in Texas in May pops up.

But what's the 3rd result in the listings? A link to Bloomberg's 'Everytown' site looking to share "What You Need to Know About Trump and the NRA...."

I hope the NRA can return to its glory in the same way Chuck Michel took a sow's ear of the CRPA 20 years ago and made it into a silk purse, but that certainly won't happen soon enough for the NRA to put forth a campaign between now and November that exposes Kamala Harris' Anti-2nd Amendment agenda to the rest of the country, who are not as aware of her rabid anti-2nd Amendment views as we here in California have experienced first hand.

I'm just not seeing much from the NRA at all regarding Trump, at this time. It appears the Letitia Jameses of the world have accomplished their goal, regardless of millions of NRA members still making up one of the largest civil-rights organizations in the country.

In some ways, it depends on where and how hard you look. For instance, back in May...

Of course, the comments on that video are largely negative against Trump. In a way, they sound reminiscent of how we tend to critique Biden. Then again, it didn't help that many media outlets focused on snippets and presented them as 'nefarious.'

But, the basis was... Trump receives NRA endorsement as he vows to protect gun rights

It's also where we heard... Trump pledges to 'roll back' Biden gun rules, fire ATF chief at NRA rally

What will be interesting to see is how 'active' the NRA is now that Judge Cohen has rejected a 'monitor' to oversee the NRA.
