So other than the obvious pressure from antis, what are the typical setbacks indoor gun ranges face in Ca, (if anyone has experience)? Assuming that someone allready has, rental space, zoning approval, planing approval, and proper funding. I've noticed quite a few of these ranges come and go over my lifetime and was just wondering why there aren't more around.

Vantec, shooting sports can be very organized...
But back to the question, it's hard to get zoning approval and as we saw in Pinole, if you can find a place outside of the Porno and industrial zones, you have to make sure your permit applications are perfect the first time you submit them so that antis can't pass moratoriums and zoning restrictions while you fix your application.
As we saw in Sunnyvale, it isn't a good idea to put up your sign before you actually open for business and it is probably wise to use a name that doesn't scream "guns" (at least when you first open).Comment
