Hogue AR-15 Grip $25 (LPK comes with a grip-something to consider..these are just nicer imho.)

Add in $50-100 for your stripped lower of choice.

You are now roughly at $1000 for a built rifle with a quality upper.

Now comes the other necessary add-ons which depending on your choice/budget will determine cost.

Iron sights $100-300 if you choose to mount a set.

RDS. $150 for a Sig Romeo5 on sale. Price goes up from there. You can even find a Romeo5/Juliet3 Magnifier Combo for around $300 on sale if you look.
I have this combo and I'm happy with it.

WML. 600 Lumen Streamlight Polytac runs around $60. 600 Lumen Surefire G2X Tactical for around $80.
A mount for WML will run around $40+/- for a BCM MLOK (I run these mounts with the above lights and it works just fine.)

A good sling will run $55-75 depending on brand, padded, etc. Lots of good options out there. (I added a front sling mount in the BCM cart.)

Add in more money for extra mags and ammo. Get to the range and learn to run your rifle and have some fun!!

Having purchased or friend's who've purchased the usual recommendations (DD, BCM, Colt, Aero, etc.), I'd get a Geissele Super Duty Mod1 in basic black if I were to do it over again. They go for about $1300 on holiday sales, like this past Memorial Day weekend, and come with all the best parts in the industry with really nothing left to upgrade. No need to think about upgrading trigger, charging handle, selector, barrel, furniture, etc. It's the kind of AR you can hand down to your kids for a relative bargain price.
