    Wal Mart has armed security????

i was driving past the Wal Mart at I15 and Aero drive in San Diego and there was a guy standing in front of the door with a full duty belt and a beretta on his side, wearing a shirt that said "security". Since when does Wal mart have armed security??? since when do they actually require that service???

I believe that's a 24 hour location really close to the freeway but on the other hand SD pd station is less than 2 miles away

Maybe it has something to do with the robbery at a Walmart in Sac last week.

I've seen armed security @ a Safeways down south and thought it was weird, but not @ a Walmart yet.

this is kinda not related but...

when i was in the philippines, mcdonalds and Jollibee had armed security! i remember seeing a security guard holding a shotgun with a full bandoleer around his torso. i actually felt safer.

Really? I haven't been to the Kearny Mesa one in a while because their 1 display case always seems empty. Are they doing a better job of keeping it stocked lately? The Aero drive location at least has 2 display cases that always seem to be about 2/3 full. I was thinking that might be why they have to keep armed security...they actually have ammo!

I went last week and they had .223 and 7.62. So i bought a few hundred rounds because turner's was out. Its week to week though. But there's usually no crowd and always someone around near the ammo to help you out.

I wonder if he specifically works for Walmart or if he is hired by the shopping center and was just standing in front of the Walmart.

Probably just from a sub-group of your typical mall ninjas......WAL-NINJAS!!!!! big difference is Wal-ninjas also partake in hunting, tail-gating, opossum roasts, tobacco spitting contests, monster truck rallies, mud bogs, and various other red neck and/or white trash activities. And to them, Airsoft is what makes the trailer smell better after a chili dinner.

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.
