I carry when at home. I don't however walk around peeking out from behind drawn curtains checking to see if the bag guys are lurking.

IF someone does break-in, I will be prepared to defend my life and my wife's life.
this makes sense. just people on here sometimes act like there ready to take five steps and draw.

Negative. Apartment complex's are considered public places. Correct me if i'm wrong. Having a gun in public without an LTC is strictly prohibited.

      I carry IWB at home.
"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

From our bedroom, we occasionally hear gunshots at night. Often times it's fireworks, but every so often it's pretty distinctly not.

Pretty sure the people living in the house 2 doors down are dealing.

Last year, a mother was gunned down in her car in our neighborhood. According to googlemaps, it was about 200m distance. That was a big wake-up call for us. That changed the discussion from we can't get a gun, we have kids' to silent contemplation and serious consideration.

Two weeks ago, 2 youths were fleeing the scene of an attempted robbery (middle of the day) 2 doors down and hopped the fence into our back yard, ran across, and hopped the neighbor's fence. My wife was home alone with my 3 year old in the kitchen, seperated by a glass patio door. That changed the discussion again.

10 day waiting period for my handgun is over on May 2nd.

I don't know what situation other people are in, but if I were to opt to carry while at home I don't think it's from paranoia.

I usually have my gun with me all day, so I take it off when I get home. I have a gun in every room in Gun Vaults, so my kids can't get to them. I live in a good neighborhood and a few of my neighbors are LEO's. I live in a court and there's always parents outside watching their kids. At night I have my .45, Benelli, and LMT should anyone come knocking in the middle of the night

I didn't until I had a home invasion, which ended badly. Since then I do. And I live in a nice area in the hills.

I carry concealed every day all day. I strap it on in the morning when I get up and I take it off when I go to bed. When I am in bed I have a shotgun in a lock bolted to the side of my bed frame. I am basically armed at all times. Paranoid? Nah. Why would I be paranoid? I am armed. Prepared yes and most importantly I train regularly both on my own and at classes and with an instructor. I don't want to ever become complacent. And situational awareness is a focus constantly.
