I you aren't going to customize the heck out of the 10/22, get a Marlin 795/60 instead. Very accurate shooters out of the box (more so than the 10/22).

I dont know why more people dont look at the Marlin 60. Its not 'tactical' or whatever nonsense, but it has a 14 shot tube mag, longer barrel, last shot bolt hold open, you can get awsome aftermarket AR15 type sights for it, the receiver is cut for scope rings.

Although it doesnt come with swing swivels.. I tried out the 795, and it felt kind of cheap to me compared to the 10/22. And if I lived in a free state, I might get the Ruger because you can get high caps for it... Either way, they are all great rifles.

For those that said to save up, I have budgeted money for other things (better handgun, and reloading equipment). This is an extra bit of cash just sitting around.

In that case get a .22, whatever one you like. Sometimes it's nice just blasting cheap ammo and not worrying about picking up brass.

Marline 795 is a great gun. I prefer having magazines over using a tube, but that's just personal preference.

Get the new handgun now in case you only have enough for a 10/22/later.
