It is a sad commentary on our society when we have people that would actually choose to watch something like this and call it entertainment. You are what you fill your mind with. The world would be a better place if the masses would boycott such a movie and shut it down for it's disgusting premise and content. As is the case of much of the garbage coming out of hollywood called film. It's a slippery slope and we are on it headed for a dark place.

You know what's sad?

The fact that "reality TV" has taken hold of the illiterate masses of these United States who in fact believe TV shows like Jersey Shores, Real Housewives of X, Real World, 16 and Pregnant and many other shows like these are how people actually act.

That's what I call sad.

You say "boycott" this movie due to it's premise. If that's true, do you boycott all entertainment value for it's lack of moral value or accuracy? I'd love to have the laundry list of movies and TV shows you've seen and boycotted over the last few years. I'd be willing to be there are a few "entertainment" type movies/shows you've seen that would fall within your own criteria.


I will actually see this movie, not because I want to enjoy to over the top gratuitous violence, but because I believe there is another message within this movie in that we as a society are acting like self indulgent a-holes.

I'll throw in my theory the film and say I believe this film will be similar to "sucker punch" and what we are watching is the of the main characters desire to rid the world of these self absorbed people. He has imagined all of this just before ending his life. Sort of a "what would I do if i couldn't get in trouble".

Of course, this is just my theory.

my theory... Hollywood knows how to twist a trailer into whatever they want. Most of the clips may not even be in the movie. Most of all the violence is in the trailer. Its a Bonnie and Clide comedy that ends with the guy dieing of cancer and the little girl going off to Prep school in the UK..very sorry for what she did...but unpunished.... and all the people in the theater clap their hands at the end.

I AM entitled to my opinion and you yours. I won't see the movie and I try to avoid all of that kind of material. It is not a matter of getting over myself. I just have different beliefs than you and that is OK. I try to guard what I put in my mind and this kind of material clearly does not qualify. I am far from perfect but I work at avoiding it cause it does not edify me. If more people would NOT buy this kind of material, the marketplace would come to realize that is not what people want and they would change cause they are profit driven. The sad part (in my opinion) is that hollywood continues to put this stuff out along with all the non reality reality shows (as an earlier poster mentioned) because people are clambering for it; hence the increase in the amount of it and the continual stretching of the threshold of decency.

It is ok to have a differing opinion and not be attacking others for theirs. This is a forum for sharing ideas. I shared mine, you share yours and let's just leave it at that. No need to get personal about it.
