This may be a bad idea because you, my fellow Calgunners, are accomplices!!!
On Wed Turners released the Ruger 10/22 takedown, nice gun but it wasn't on my MUST HAVE list . . . . . . well all the folks here started saying they purchased one. And then, someone posted a review of the gun, a fairly comprehensive review. And then another CGer pointed to coupon Turners gave Calgun people . . . . . . I was being tempted to buy, but was resisting.
Then on Thursday Turners really started to play dirty. Their weekly add came out and the Ruger GP100 and the Marlin 1894C in .357 was on sale. Both of these have been on my MUST HAVE for about 9 months.
Went to the Torrance Turners today, got there about 10:15 and there was a line at the gun counter. They had 4 people working the counter all doing DROS. The staff was doing a good job helping the customers, and the folks waiting to be served were being civil, no one throwing a temper tantrum.
When my turn came, I asked if they had any 10/22s left, nope they were gone. Good I didn't really need the gun so I could concentrate on the GP100 and the 1894C. After looking at them for a few minutes I said I would take both. The clerk then said I could put a deposit down on the 10/22 since they were taking orders and SHOULD get more in and would get the sales price.
So by 12pm when I left, a Ruger GP100 SS 4 inch is in jail, a Marlin 1894C .357 is in jail and the Ruger 10/22 Takedown has a deposit and will go into jail once they have one to sell.
In the last 18 months since my wife and I started to get more serious about shooting, I've purchased 4 guns from Turners, 4 PTP (DROS was done at Turners) and two other purchases. 10 Guns in 18 months plus my original 2, my security cabinet (can't call it a safe) is stuffed.
My wife said no more gun purchases this year. I have to concede the point, but there are other things I can buy. Next on the list is a larger "real" safe (Sturdy or Rhino are the two top contenders). I currently reload so now I have to start reloading in larger volumes to feed all my guns.
Do I have an addiction??? Do I need an intervention??

My worst day shooting is better than my best day at work.
