Last year a friend's father wanted to get rid of his 1903 since he had terminal cancer. He was going to let me have it for well under $400. I don't know why I passed it up. I guess I just felt too sorry for his condition.

It's the one that got away.

We saw it, we wanted it, we decided to sleep on it, then before we could plunk down the bucks, it was gone. But we simply did not go quietly into the night. We lost sleep, checked gunbroker, asked around, called dealers, but it was a done deal -- we had lost a good deal. OUR good deal. And someone else was out there with YOUR gun.

So, what do you still pine for? What slipped through your fingers? What gun will you not let go if you come by it again?

            Post pics!

            My missed op:

Colt 38 Super dia de los muertos.

When it first came out it retailed for $1300. I had the cash in hand but single shot exemption wasn't even thought of yet.

It is now at $6500. Hoping to come across one of these some day and the seller not know how much people are overpaying for it now. I would pay 2K for it just not 6.5!

Only gun I ever sold was the first handgun I ever bought. Browning Hi-Power .40 Limited Edition.
Sold it to a friend. I have tried a few time to buy it back, but he is being stubborn.....

In college I met a girl and even until the last day of the tennis class, I didn't have the guts to ask for her number... Are we on the subject about guns?

Happily married now and more than a few guns that got away!!! Included a Ruger MKII with 6.75" barrel for $279 a few months ago.

Create a law that says gun control only applies to criminals.
