CDOJ handles an average 5,000 transactions per day.

Of that, about 1500 are just from Turners.

When I saw the post title, I thought the OP was going to talk about adding the 2,474th gun to his collection. I still have a long way to go before I hit the 2K mark.
Check back later for a witty comment.

Ho-Hum... two big things have happened since then. A federal law that prohibits exactly things like the Katrina Gun Confiscation and Heller/McDonald that actually clarifies that we have a fundamental right to gun ownership (at least in the home).

Registration or not, I can assure you that if it came to across-the-board confiscation (which won't happen for so many reasons) 'they' will know everyone who has guns.

(again, none of this is going to happen - but you know what they say about paranoia... )

And before that law was passed, there was a little blurb in the Constitution that said we the people have a right to keep and bear arms but they didn't seem to care about that.

Laws are broken, even by the authorities. Sure the law will help you later in court, but what do you do when the authorities are standing on your doorstep demanding your firearms?

Back to the OP, 2,474th of the day is great to hear. That's a lot of firearms being sold in CA.

I wish that was the case.

What the hell is going on in this thread? I find it debatable that NICS has ever stopped anyone from commiting a crime with a gun, and I will register my firearms when hell freezes over, CA DROS not withstanding, as its soon to be negated by the fact I've taken my guns (and my family) and jumped the fence.
