NO! All the negative things you have heard about Kimbers being the "worst 1911" or "they don't work" are crap. I have a Gold match II stainless and it has been the most reliable and accurate handgun I have ever shot & owned. It is more accurate than my fathers Springfield Loaded. I've shot maybe 500-700 rds thru it and not ONE malfunction of any kind. I personally, have never had any problems with Kimber(except for trying to get them to checker my grip...Just a little slow on following up) and I will bet my life on my 1911.

I have 3k+ through my Raptor. Its not a lot for most 1911 guys, but it still runs like a top.

Started the process earlier today, and will be picking it up on the 16th! I can't wait. Do you guys recommend the break-in with the stock mag, or should I start off with CMC or Wilson mags?

Kimbers are some of the most reliable 1911's that i have owned or shot. a super match II was my first gun ever, and i love shooting it to this day. it has never jammed, never had a FTE or a FTF, and just in general is amazing. i highly recommend anything that kimber puts out

My side arm when hunting is 5" raptor. I use it fairly often and it is by no means a safe queen. She has some wear on it and still performs great.

Wife got me a Grand Raptor as an engagement present and it's the best gun I own. I broke the extractor and sent it back to Kimber about 2 years after I bought it (supposedly 1 year warranty) and they not only replaced it free they polished the internals as well. Great company, great weapon, you'll be stoked with your new Raptor!
