As a seller, I simply ignore those guys. INCLUDING their offers at asking price. Just not worth dealing with people like that.

My experience with Calgunners & peeps from other websites has been very positive.

The worst are the CL people that agree to $250 and show up with "only" $235.

    My current policy is:

-show up with less than the amount agreed to, I leave without selling the item. EVEN if they produce the full amount

-show up with the full amount without haggling, I give a $5 "thanks for not being a D*CK" discount

I recently sold an item for $15 and gave the $5 "T4NBAD" discount

I usually don't even dignify that kind of PM with a response.

Really fun part is when you agree to meet and they don't show at all.

yea, been said a million times but show the eff up or don't agree to meet.

            I always text them 30 mins before. If I don't get a response, then I don't leave.

People that are polite and don't try to haggle price are usually good.

The ones that keep haggling, I just stop after the first time I told them no.

sometimes sellers need to be told the truth. if it hurts your feelings, you might want to harden up a bit. People are in the used parts classifieds to look for deals, not to pay more for someones used bits than a new piece would cost.

This opinion may hurt feelings, YMMV

i have to agree, it goes both ways. if a new piece cost less than the seller's asking price for a used one, then the seller needs to be aware of the current market.

                    Make me an offer.

Agreed that it goes both ways. I've seen a number of times where a seller will keep bumpin his post for months askin for a high firm price with no interested buyers. A counter offer is finally made, and the seller gets butthurt and posts that he doesn't accept lowball offers.
Gotta remember that nobody cares what amount you originally paid for, only what it's currently worth.

Most buyers think they are know it alls. I work with my dad and we restore old muscle cars. We attend a lot of swap meets and ive met some of the cheapest people on the planet. All you need to say is no thanks to their offer. Just ignore them.

That will get them to raise their offer ASAP!

I've just always thought that line was kinda tacky. It's definitely not something I would say at my LGS.

I think a lot of the buyers/sellers might be youngsters who don't really appreciate the art of horsetrading.

like someone said already, the "off-list" and grossly over-priced guns are so annoying..

really...some dorks think their items are made of 24kt gold and one of a kind when in fact they are a cheap lorcin rust piece...similar to the idiots at the swap-meet that sell craftsman rusted tools for the same price sears does...

What I find more annoying are the people that post in your thread...

                                "What's your lowest price?"

Or they'll post their lowball offer in your thread.

                                "I know you're asking $300. Would you take $150?"

It's annoying, but you run into it everywhere. I just politely decline their offer.

If the buyer keeps pushing, I make it a point to never sell anything to them in the future. I had a buyer try to negotiate for a couple of dollars (like $3) over some glock 19 mags. Needless to say, he didn't get the mags and I won't be selling him anything in the future.
