how many is too many firearms

i dunno if it is me not being around many people who are into collecting or being around firearms, but i am curious when too many is too many.

is there any magic number where they start keeping tabs on what you're doing if you bought too many within a year or a few months?

I went on a buying spree in relatively recent time since i took advantage of a credit line i had before the market went to the crappers. now i think i got too many and am wondering how many is too many? someone told me I had too many when i had 4-5 pistols, and i'm way beyond that now.

just curious what count of pistols and rifles the general gun collector/enthusiast has around here and if they think they have too many. pls comment.

i think any more than 400 of any make and model "might" be pushing it. till then its whenever money runs out.

The one that your wife finds that you can't explain away.

      That's one too many.

This would be a good poll.

If I had to venture a guess, the high is easily over a hundred assorted guns.

Median of the regular posters is around 20?

When you are buying guns and ammo instead of milk, you have a problem.

I think I've said this before too:

When you can no longer sleep in your own home.

                    or something to that effect.

20? Well you south of the Mason-Dixion line. The average income in Ca. is a lot more than in the south. Therefore, we have more money for more and bigger toys. I think I've got 20ish in a box in my storage unit. I'm not even sure what they are right now but, they aren't worth enough to have them taking up space in any of my safes.

If you can afford it, I don't think that you can ever have too many guns. If it shoots, I want it...

Yeah, well our disposable income can be higher!

I was living in Orange my last year in the PRK as a teacher making $43K. On my student job salary now, I'm able to buy more guns, support my wife (who's also a student) and have paid off the debt I was racking up in Kalifornia!

But yeah, if anything I was guessing that the median of 20 is a little high.

Too many is when you go through your safe(s) and come across guns you don't remember buying.

                              When did I get a 6" S&W Model 19? Wow. I totally *don't* remember this gun.
