    stripper clip question.

i want to put my SHTF .223 ammo on stripper clips. i don't know when i'll ever get around to using my SHTF ammo unless i rotate my ammo. will stripper clips wear out if put into storage loaded for long periods of time (5 years, then rotate)?

    thanks in advance!

No problem. Lots of ammo is packaged on stripper clips and is easily loaded into mags decades later.

I dont see why they would just some steel and brass, nothing moving and the little tension from the brass retainer should act just like any other spring (not moving not wearing out)

I'm packed my SHTF ammo on strippers as well. Will be fine. Just store the ammo well and you'll have no problems.

.223 stripper clips are designed to be single use items. You can use them more than that but they are so cheap it's not worth it.

Just buy stripper clips in bulk and get a strip lula to load up your magazines.

And "rotating" ammo doesn't make sense unless you have surplus ammo that is already 20+ years old and you are shooting the oldest first.

I keep thousands of rounds stored on stripper clips in 40mm cans. If nothing disturbs them, they should still be ready to go for the next hundred years, at least.
