    CMP M-1 Garand

so i am interested in purchasing a garand and it seems like the cmp site is a good place to get one...anyone have experience with these and how well they work? i wont be using it for competition just for plinking and such....do they ship these to an ffl or do they ship them straight to your door? also quality feedback on them and reliability would be great as well

No brainer - buy a CMP rifle - then ammo from them - then another rifle - then more ammo

    Repeat

They are the only way to go

Are they reliable and how well do they work? I don't know of any more reliable semi-automatic rifle than the Garand.

Ship to you door? Yes, once you provide them with the correct paperwork

Get yourself some ammo from CMP as well. $100 for 200 rounds is impossible to beat.

1st M1 was a parts kit no stock, 2nd one was shooter with character, 3rd I hand picked in Ohio and is pristine. Now I need a 4th soon, and more ammo. $0.50 a shot is pretty cheap for garand ammo!!!! Best thing is going to the store and hand buying ammo, saving on shipping!

Pay no attention to them!! These are not the M1's you're looking for! Don't buy any more M1 Garands from the CMP!

The CG classifieds section almost always has at least one fine example of a Garand for sale, why not look there first? Plus I'm sure if you ask nicely enough, the seller would let you shoot before you buy....

Once you do what is needed to qualfy to buy from CMP they are THE PLACE to buy an M1. I have 2 correct grades and a few other service grades and have never got a bad one yet out of approx 20 I have purchased. If I had the cash I would get another service grade or especially a Win correct grade to go with my Springfield and H&R correct grade rifles.

Hahah, I plan on starting with a 'Service grade' so there's at least one 'Correct grade' left.
