      I don't see a Tavor in the second picture.

      I'm really hoping I get to see and/or fondle a Tavor when I go back to Israel next month.

          That's because there isn't a Tavor in the second pic. Just in the first one.

                      The checkpoints are actually not bad. If you live in the area and want to go to the grocery store on the other side of the fence, they stop you. If you have paperwork you go through. This means Arabs and Jews. If you don't you turn around.

                      If anyone has been to the checkpoint in Baja California between the airport and Cabo San Lucas, it is just about the same.

                      It has the remarkable effect of stopping the suicide bombers from entering Israel. Terrorists disapprove of being stopped with their bombs. Local residents with papers who are not terrorists are let through. Both Jews and Arabs live on both sides of the checkpoints. Both have to go through them. It takes about 30 seconds if you have paperwork.


                      The western looking now is likely one of the "Peace Now" activists. It is a group of crazy libs who jump in front of tanks. One of them got run over a couple of years ago when she jumped in front of a bulldozer taking down a terrorists house. To show their thanks a couple of years later, her parents were kidnapped by terrorists in Gaza. They ended up letting them go.

                                          Found this link while searching on google images for "israeli soldier" it's number 4 that comes up. The image was a little shocking until I read the page with the news article.



                                          It shows why the checkpoints are necessary. Everyone should look at it. It is a story about a kid that had a bomb strapped to him and was sent to the checkpoint. The kid did not know what was going on and the soldiers were able to save his life, and that of everyone around him. They stripped him down to remove the suicide belt and then detonated it on site.
