got mine from them for $615 delivered... add a Karsten adj. cheek comb and your in business (or stick on any remmy 870 shotgun rear stock you want,.. its compatable)...

Or get an HS or McMillan for $400 and bed it ever few years for $200 a pop...
I got the sage as its often an accuracy upgrade over fully glassbedded m1a's as i understand it... and you never need to bed, as it bolts down at the rod guide and free floats from then on...

no regrets here yet- and i love how the the charging rod is completely covered so you can aggressively grip without getting fingers bit or twisted...

I have posts around here with pics, and all the pics over on M14.com under the same name...

      Not a single regret!

SAGE can keep their stock. I'll wait a while and something else will come out and lower the prices. My regular stock is okay for me right now.

The Mcmillen stock I got for my M1A was 650.00 with the add on's. It was the M3A. Works great, bedded. It feels so right when your using it.

Another cool option would be the JAE-100 M1A stock for $599. It free floats the barrel, and clamps onto the receiver... the trigger assembly just attaches to the gun, it does not hold it in this stock.

If you read the link that xenophobe posted, that information is in that thread, also, there is a link to another thread near the bottom that brings up the original post about that stock.

semi-auto, center fire rifle with detachable mag and any one of the following makes it an assault weapon...(FLASH HIDER IS ONE OF THEM)

and it is a BRAKE not a BREAK

Thats fine also, but then you lose the front sight as well as protection for the muzzle.

You also leave teh threads exposed on the barrel and prone to damage.

Fred's GI stocks in excellent condition are the only way to go. All of these stocks with rails etc... make the rifle too heavy IMO. All my M14 clones wear Fred's syn stocksand a brownells competitior sling with standard SA INC brown handgaurd. Sweet and simple.

Back in 1999 I was nervous about registration because I had no handguns at the time so if I registered Assault Weapons then I'd be on "lists". Hence I sold off my Norinco AK-47 clone (which was crap anyways). Of course that was long before I knew I'd have to register 10+ Assault Weapons in 2006 !

Remember, if you pin in the mag, you can still do whatever you like on the M1A. I might drill and tap my mag release to take a set screw and fix in a 10 rounder to play with it. I almost always top load the thing as it is, and I use a 5 round mag. A 10 rounder will be twice as much as I normally use

I was always used to carrying a heavy rifle.... I always lugged around my M16A2/M203 and the additional weight of a M1A with the JAE-100 or Sage chopmod aren't a problem with me.

Especially if you have to carry one, after a few weeks you get used to it.
