M1A, SOCOM, & (II) Ca. Legal Modifications!

I am looking for some feedback and pictures posts of M1a's... I wanted to show this picture I found of an M1a and get some feedback... It looks legal since it is not a pistol grip and the index finger's knuckel is above the triger pull point??? Any ideas on who makes this?

Well, your avatar looks pretty cool. I don't know much about how they can be modified but I'm interested as I've been mulling over getting one myself.

        Mcmillen Stock

Looks like you might have an M3A Mcmillen stock, which I feel is the best one for M1A. I have one on mine, plus I put the original flash hider back on because of noise complaints from other shooters. Mine is also bedded with the new Springfield trigger group that adjusts from 11/2 to 4 lbs. Cost on that is 340.00 to you.

Sage International makes that stock. That's the M14 EBR, with the CA legal buttstock. Really nice unit. It will set you back probably $650. It's actually a US Navy issue item. Crane Naval Warfare Center has ordered quite a few of these, and they're currently deployed in *name your favorite theatre of conflict*

You can get them from Fulton Armory.

Your Source for Service Rifles: M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M14 / M1A & AR Types

My shop is on file as dealer for Sage International, but admittedly haven't placed an order from them from quite some time. I can beat Fulton Armory's price by a bit.

because if it was a flash hider, that would be a detachable magazine + an evil feature = AW = free trip to club fed.

But... if you were smart and registerd your M1A back in 2000, then you can have the flash hider, pistol grip AND collapsable stock ; )

Is the Sage Stock (CA version) reversable back to the pistol grip/collapsable stock configuration?

Want to know should I move out of this state.

Yes, but I'm not sure if Sage will sell you the stock parts individulally, you might want to ask Fulton Armory if they have extra parts.

IIRC they use a monte carlo 870 Rem buttstock to convert it to a Kali legal version. You might be better off buying the free state version and changing it to the Kali legal version, than the other way around.

Well, this is an H&S Precision Stock that was cut, hollewed and filled with Glass Bedding at 15'.00 to match the SAGE. I am working on an additional custom rear now that will be CALI leagal with adjustable comb and LOP. Stay tuned for the next SOCOM16 VERSION I am working on... and yes the Parts Came from Fulton and can be changed out to make it CALI friendly.

                          HOLEY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

                          $600-$700 FOR A FREAKING STOCK??????

SAGE can keep their stock. I'll wait a while and something else will come out and lower the prices. My regular stock is okay for me right now.

But then again, I'm not fighting the Jihadist in Iraq, I'm only punching paper.

The $600-$700 is more like $800 when your done... for the SAGE that is... But don't forget about the other $250 for the H&S Precision stock which is the back end Mod to make it Cali Legal...
