The good deals go fast. I bought a Winchester 72 for $120, a Spike's stripped lower for $50, a Remington 1917 Mosin Nagant for $50.
      It's lucky timing.
Then you get people that think a Mossberg is worth $350 because it has a pistol grip.

I haven't seen the main reason I got a high price on one of my sales...
Someone really wanted one, and it was not on the roster.

The WTB ads can be just as ridiculous.
Wanted- Colt Python. Will pay up to $500, or trade Hi-Point 9mm and a Bryco 25.

Going good Al. I'm in Florida right now, but back home is cold, as in 25 was the high on Tuesday.
Not moving back. By the way, used gun sales prices are stupid out here too.

Try Washington. my buddy just called me to ask if 1450 is a good price for a Del-Ton AR15. Oh yeah it was used on consignment.
I told him only if its made of gold and shoots silver bullets. So sometimes the grass seems greener on the other side......... Guns that are realistically market priced will sell. Guns that are not will have countless bumps and TTT over and over. Simple as that

Yeah, calguns should allow you to post in the for sale section and bust out those fools that are asking $500 for a used Glock I can buy new for $475. I use other pages too and IMHO Calguns is the worst for high prices there are some good deals here but most are a rip-off. I love it when the selled has like 25+ bumps on his own ad and still asking 10% more than new price!

Some of it has to do with the area because I have never seen a new glock for under $500. I have seen some on consignment for $500 though.

Yeah, I've had a few guys offer me all sorts of worthless stuff. I just chuckled to myself when I read their PMs and replied, "sorry, I'm not interested in that." all the while I'm thinking, "what kind of sucker do you think I am?"

Some people don't understand the market, and think they can recover 90% of their investment in a home-assembled AR or a custom 1911 just because it was barely broken in.

It's the same reasoning some long term stock holders have, when they see their holding's stock price go down. They hold on to it, hoping it will go back up. Sometimes it does. With guns, it usually doesn't, unless you bought the exact same model that suddenly got featured in some blockbuster or in Call of Duty for World Warfare Recon XVII.

Some have "off list" guns and think that makes them worth a bunch more.. or they have one in OD or some hard to find configuration.

Eventually the markets determine what anything is worth.. the good deals go fast and the bad deals languish until the seller drops his price or gives up.
