Definitely M1A! I have a Scout and I want a loaded too, for the long elegant barrel The socoms have a non-standard gas system and sucky sights.

And for those who don't know, Springfield will give you a NM trigger job on any M1A for $35! Mine is super sweet!

I love mine so much I refused to sell it when times got rough.

I ate top ramen bread and water for a month rather than sell it. I had an aquaintance willing to pay a whopping $800 for it and I refused to sell.

You will not be disappointed with a M14/M1A. Keep your eyes open for USGI parts when you are purchasing one, because they are worth their weight in gold.

Looks like ill be looking for a deal on a SS loaded with walnut stock soon. So far the best I found was 1800. They are beautiful.

Buy this one if you are looking at paying $1,800.00.
It is all USGI, and looks great.
It has a four digit serial number, and will probably go up in value.
The price is only $1,500.00
I have quite a few, or else I would buy it.

I guess I will be the first to say it, In California ARs are played out! LOL Everyone and their momma has one.

If you are willing to drop $1800, I would just opt for a LRB dressed in all USGI parts with a nice tiger stripped presentation wood stock. Cost is a little more, but why go half ***'d... might as well go the distance!

Say you have a couple 5.56mm and 7.62 rifles already. Do you go for the 308 or consolidate calibers. M1A or M1 from CMP? Basically I want to add something to the collection, got 2k to spend and definitely need a G26 somewhere in there.

Anyone who isn't getting their individual weapon and ammo issued to them is probably more into want than need, but there's no time like now to buy rifles that might come under legislative restriction.

I'd go for the M1A and the CMP Garand.
