washington gun laws

I live just north of Bremerton, in Silverdale. I really like it! The nearest shooting range is 6 miles away. Some part's of bremerton aren't the nicest, especially by the port and shipyards. Just old and run down. But overall, kitsap county is a really nice place to live. If your outdoorsy, WA. and the Seattle area is the place to be.

Awesome. I have a friend who just moved to Poulsbough and my roommate and I are going to move their within the next year or so. Quick question, My roommate owns an original 1949 AK-47 in another state. I am not sure if it is FA or not but either way can we bring it with us?

If it's an automatic, I would presume your buddy is a class 3 license holder? If he isn't, i'm pretty sure that's a felony.....If its a semi, then i'm almost certain you can. I've seen AK's at Cabella's and other stores for sale. If they sell them in the state, don't see any reason why you couldn't bring one into the state if you own it legally. Always double check! Hit me up when you guys get here, we'll go shooting! There's at least 3 gun ranges between Bremerton to Pulsbo!

I just moved to the Seattle area, so if they have a problem with it, tough.
The gun laws are here are nice! No waiting period....Shall issue for concealed carry. You feel like a free American when going into a gun shop.

I believe there is still a 5 day wait on pistols. Long guns are cash and carry.

Ccw is cake, too. Small fee and you've got a LTC, even non-residents. Oh, and LOC is good to go if you're into letting it hang out.

Im hoping to move to Bremerton within the next year or so. How is it so far?

I'm on there as well. Same user name as I've traveled through there and had questions for those guys. Knowledgable guys. Some may have issues with a Californian moving to their state .

I spent the first 25 years of my life in WA. Its great. All my family is up there and I nearly got to move back.

The laws are what we Californians can only dream of.

Person to person sales are handshakes. thats right, no DROS, no background crap, no waiting period (true for new long guns too). Just cash and carry between two WA residents.

One of my favorite gun shows is up in Puyallup WA ( fairgrounds). They have ten a year. Its great. Years ago they were looking into bringing in a "portable" indoor range-- not sure if they did.

That gunshow is run by a statewide gunowners club. Membership includes a background check and all show transactions require membership... kind of a semi-self policing practice. Not necessary, but keeps the haters in check.

Best part... some of the best deals can be had in the parking lot of the gun show! Since out there... its a sale with a hand shake, thank you and good bye. Pistols, rfiles, shotguns... all cash and carry. I remember some guys were freaked about selling without recording info from your license and signing a bil of sale with serials... but not legally required. I was young so it never mattered to me honestly.

When I came to CA... it was pretty much the first time I was aware complex gun laws even EXISTED. I figured, if it aint full auto, its GTG.

You'll love WA. Federal way is 15 mins from Puyallup.

Heres some stuff to look forward to:
-Mt. Ranier ( Camp Muir)
-Olympic nat rain forest
-Crab
-Wenatchee nat forest
-Lewis-McChord
-South Tacoma way (If you like awsome Korean food)
-Seafair
-Fireworks that go UP INTO the air!
-5 hours to canada
-Indian Culture- often you hear of "appreciating" native american culture... the NW coastal tribes really did shape alot of washington's culture and its actually pretty cool.
-If you get the chance, make the hike from range station at Lake ozette across the Indian reservation to coast and camp a couple days... its amazing. Cliffs, perch, trails... I imagine its as close to alaska as I'll ever get.


Heres some stuff youll hate:

-excessive clothing (you'll see what I mean once you begin missing the only great part of CA)
-the cigarettes
-seattle traffic ( on par with bay )
-Seattle liberals ( on par with bay )
-Patty Murray ( on Par with pelosi )


Heres a tip, if you want REALLY good gun deals, put some time in at the swap meets and ask around. Guns are just waaaaay cheaper up there.

I remember when I first moved to Oregon I stopped a convenience store to get a water before work. Once at work, I was talking to someone and said I stopped at the liquor store before work, and they gave me a funny look. They couldn't figure out why I would go all the way to a state liquor store for water.

hahaha!!! ok that is hilarious! when i was in wa last week we stopped at a gas station and picked up a couple of beers and after my cousin told me that until recently, you could only get alcohol at liquor stores lol

In OR you can get beer anywhere, but it's real alcohol that is limited to state run stores. WA may have been the same, but I don't recall as I only lived there for the first two years of my life, and each time I've visited since I've never purchased alcohol.

lol oh ok that makes more sense. at least they sell everything anywhere now so u dont have to go to liquor stores and all u can just buy the goods while ure grocery shopping lol
