Ya.. just wait until you get your 03FFL and start collecting rifles and pistols from before your parents were born and you get to locate (or reload), and organize and store all of the oddball variants not only in 9mm, but also 8, 7, 6, and 5mm!

It is a bit silly with the 9mm variants including .38/.380/.357 in the list, but they are technically 9mm rounds even though the actual dimensions could be anywhere from .354" to .380"
And to make it even more confusing... the 9.8mm Auto Colt is .380", while the .41 Long Colt is 9.8mm at .386"

But just because it's a .380 projectile doesn't mean it's the same boolit as the .380 Auto (which is .355")

      Only in the gun world are 9mm, .380, and .357Sig = .355", but both .357 and .38 = .357

        .357 Sig = 9mm in a necked down .40 cal IIRC....

Yup... The powder charge of a .40 behind a 9mm slug.

9 out of 10 handguns list the caliber it shoots somewhere on the gun itself and most times its on the slide.

Model of handgun doesn't matter... look on the barrel breech stamped (generally) on the right side or on top- on the p89 it says 9mm x 19 stamped right on there (which as has been pointed out, is the same as 9mm luger)

BTW - 9mm Kurz I've heard of, but 9mm Browning - from Wiki - should be 9mm Browning short.... And same round I've heard called 9mm short...

All that's needed now is for Ruger to come up with a new 9mm round.

Then we can hit the store and argue with the counter person on whether we asked for 9mm Luger or 9mm Ruger.

Good one! I think 9mm GAP is more likely.

I think that one is already available. They called it the 9mm GAP, but then someone reminded them that it was already out there, called the .380 ACP

                              "9mm"
                              "9mm Luger"
                              "9mm Para"
                              "9mm Parabellum"

All of these terms, in common usage, means 9x19mm.
