    Underwater Bumpfire

Does anyone have the video for the underwater bumpfire on ar15.com? I looked all over for it a few months ago but can't find anything because I can't search the archive. Is this a myth, or did it really happen? I must know.

It really happened. AFAIK the video never made it into circulation, just still pics. No I haven't seen the video, but I have met Mr. Aquabump.
If it was a snake, it would have bit me.

What about pics, are these available? I'm assuming there was a kaboom of some kind, and I do love kaboom pics.

I remember that. It's amazing the guy didn't get seriously hurt.

        Maybe he's Darwin-ed himself. *shrug*

I assume he was bump firing under water at waist level, which is definitely not where I would want a rifle to blow up. That could hurt.

I know Mr.Aquabump (Btw that name is way cool thanks Jeff) as well and have never doubted that he did this.
IMO he didn't release it because he probably didn't think it was good enough.

Let me do a search on the archive and I will post the link to the original thread.

I've never seen it, but one of the former members here, Professor Evil, has (He moved out of state). There wasn't anything to it: The rifle was underwater and the camera was above. The rifle was destroyed, the operator was unharmed (His head was above water).

Nothing to see here, move along.

Word of warning: If you're AR gets submerged, open the bolt with the barrel angled down and let the water drain out. Better yet, run a couple of dry patches or a bore snake down the bore. Let it air dry if you have to. Never fire a .223 rifle with obstructions or water in the barrel.

Hey Pablo...we can't view those pics in the archive unless we are Bronze or up members. Can you save them and host them at an off arf site and post them again here? (the ar-15 ones, not the pistol ones)

Dont know if this is how they do it, but Ive seen some "older" gentlemen put "camo" colored tape loosely over their barrel/crown. This is one to keep debris out of the barrel while making your way through "bad' environments.

Donno, how that works as I havent tried it myself, but if it does it could help if you wanted to keep water out aswell.
