I'm not all panty bunched up about this, I'm just annoyed by seeing racism being uni directional, especially in Southern California where Caucasion is not the majority.

Absolutely, redneck is a behavioral and economic grouping, not a racial grouping.
There are oakies that are not rednecks, even though they may live in the same area.

It's not racist to call someone "po white trash" if you are white.
That's purely economic discrimination.
Economic groupings have nothing to do with race, even though some races primarily occupy some economic groupings.

I suppose there's some good term to decribe economic discrimination, but I don't know what it is.

I appreciate your "opinion" but I would think a derogatory statement is just that, regardless of the source. That being said, because we live in the United States, I also think it's perfectally allright to use derogatory statements as long as they are not meant to incite a riot as protected by our Bill of Rights. I'm not a fan of the term racism and think it's over used and in fact abused. I just want to see it used equally if people want to cry about racism.

It should be, but there are so many different groups in the general "white" category that you had better be pretty easy to identify as being an italian before you call someone else by an italian derogatory term.

its also hardly a hate crime for someone not white to say "po' white trash" while commiting a crime against them, but if i beat up an african american and said "stupid ******" while beating him ( let say over the head with a baseball bat) it would most definitly be a "hate crime"
