Yes, of course I'm packing tonight. AK, 200rds, PAGST kevlar helmet, chainmail boxer shorts (I'm still saving those beer can pull-rings to make a full suit).

With all the discussion about zombies on Calguns recently, I certainly do not want to get caught out if suddenly a zombie apocalypse outbreak happens to start tonight, and I end up innocently opening my door with handfuls of candy to some real zombies, who could easily be mistaken for kids dressed as the undead! Easily done!

I'd like to keep my brain, thank you very much.

I picked "No," but whether you're paranoid or not depends on your neighborhood. Where we went, there was no need.

Yup, had something on me all night, you never know who is out there no matter how good the neighborhood is. We had some trick or treaters come by who were not from the area, a couple women looked to be in their late 20's or 30's - why you gotta be that old and still going door to door for free candy??

Sounds to me like they were looking for "tricks" and all you gave them was candy!

My grandmother decided to hand out candy this year. So I put my stainless XD on the hip and went and worked on my bike in the garage with the door 1/2 way down. Just told her to yell if she needed me. I was doing an oil change and checking the cylinder so i was sitting down and laying on my back some of the time.

I kept my shirt pulled down over the XD but it slipped off while i was sitting on the garage floor and some gangster wannabes saw it in all it's glory as they were walking in front of our driveway. They all went silent and looked nervous, I had heard them talking and the sudden silence caught my attention. I noticed my shirt had shifted and I covered it back up nonchalantly and went back to work but watched them over top of my rear wheel. They all kind of looked at each other and mumbled. They crossed the street and never went to our door.

Good little wannabes. At least they aren't total idiots.

P.S. Final tally. 25 kids came to the door. More than expected.

I wasn't home this year for Halloween, but I would say in the last five years I have probably had a total of 20 trick or treaters.

Yeah. Those three year olds in bumble bee suits are vicious. Make sure you load up with the most powerful ammo you have. Where is the "No - Children don't frighten me" option? But then, I don't live in "the hood" either.

You don't have to live in the 'hood. Bad guys have been known to travel!

Just as likely on Halloween as on any other night, maybe more so.

I don't live in the hood. Nor do I stick my head in the sand just because there's kids out on Halloween. I'm opening my front door to a large amount of unknown people. Ever heard of a distraction? Halloween is an ideal time for a lot of crimes. And the curse of knowledge from being in the LE field has taught me that.
