I love posts like this ... ACU is NOT a camo pattern .. The pattern you are talking about is UCP.... ACU is the newer style of uniform which differs from BDUs ... I personally think that anyone who doesn't know the difference should not be allowed to own anything that even LOOkS like any military weapon... .02... Dog pile pleaseComment

Because blue does not occur in nature except in sea or sky.Why not ACU?I don't shoot because I like guns, I shoot because I hate paper.
There's a mistaken impression that conservatives don't like the environment. We do, we love the environment. We just call it the outdoors and we go there to kill stuff.

Although, you are technically correct, ACU and UCP have become interchangeable terms used by, God forbid, soldiers themselves. There are many ways the Army could address this brand dilution. Perhaps with a new motto.I love posts like this ... ACU is NOT a camo pattern .. The pattern you are talking about is UCP.... ACU is the newer style of uniform which differs from BDUs ... UCP: Why have camouflage that's perfect for one terrain when you can have camouflage that's useless in every terrain?Comment

You sure about that?

Here's a natural frog

Here's a natural bird

This natural snake looks pretty darn blue to me

And one more for you
Now if you had said that blue was rare in nature, sure. However you did not. There are other blue plants and flowers, birds, fish, snakes, insects, lizards, etc.
edit: Heck I even forgot about blue rocks(due to various elements, oxidized minerals, etc.), fungi...Last edited by Merc1138; 10-15-2011, 1:18 AM.Comment

You win. I was wrong. Please accept my humblest apologies for overstating my point. I was trying to be succinct and a little bit funny, but it was probably too simple for you.You sure about that?

Perhaps this is better: "Because a blue gray blob moving through brown dirt and foliage is easy to see"

These pictures serve to show how blue makes something stand out in its environment. But point taken. Blue things abound in nature, animal, mineral and vegetable.
