To the OP, just so help you a bit.
I added up the upper this way, without shipping or Tax:
Barrel with gas block & tube $200
    Flash Hider $45
    Rail $120
    BCG $140
    Upper $120
    Charging handle $25

so new cost is $650. So with shipping all from one place it would be like $700, and thats without paying tax. So if the items were near new, you didnt get screwed, just paid more than a person with more knowledge would have. The deal was just like $60-$100 off IMHO. I have done the same thing, so has everyone else. Its a good mix of parts and it should perform well for years to come.

Yeah. That is how I rationalize it. It doesn't look to have very much use, either. Take care and good looking out.

Trying to help the op. If I was a mod I'd ban you for the thread anyway. At the very least some pretty bad Itrader.

There is only two ways to see this,
You built this Ar to make money off of it selling it to a newbish buyer.
Or you bought the rifle from someone and didn't know
        A. It's not colt anything.
        B. It's a fake EMOD
        C. It's a moe grip and tg.

And whatever else is not as described.
Just saying. If you buy something and it's not as described
        You return it.
Well this **** just keeps getting better. Just realized that I have a real Magpul front site, but was not so lucky with the rear. This is getting a bit ridiculous. I wondered because the front one popped up and locked a lot better so I looked up fakes and sure enough, I have plastic rear peep holes rather than metal. I'm starting to think I should ask for my money back...looks like you nailed this one, SocomM4

Philthy209: I'm sure you would have preferred to deal with this in private, but as they say, sunlight can cure a lot of wounds. Are you willing to reverse the trade if the OP requests it? That would show that you stand behind your deal.

To the OP: after reading this thread I'm disappointed and sorry for your experience. I would have expected something like this on craigslist, not calguns. At least we have the benefit of bringing this type of stuff to the rest of the community. So thanks for letting us all know.
If you are wondering if you can get a LTC in Riverside County: THE ANSWER IS YES!

Still think it was an honest mistake?

No problem. I started out not so pissed feeling like a did dodge most of the bullet, but truth be told this guy did screw me intentionally.
He's been a member here since 2007, if memory serves me, and claimed to well experienced with the AR platform.
I believe he is well experienced with the AR platform.
For someone that has built 9 AR's, to then flip flop and expect me to believe when he says and I quote "I was not misleading you in any way. I was told the upper was a Colt and the bolt was a dpms.I pick up stuff from gun shows and the marketplace on this forum. Sorry if you feel like i got over on you. Believe me that was not the case."
This is my first experience with this particular weapon, bar a few times shooting rifles that didn't belong to me. It took me about a minute of searching around the internet to figure out that my upper receiver wasn't a Colt, but he'll have me believe that he didn't know any better!! And to top that off, he was so unlucky, that he unknowingly bought knock-off fake items for just about every possible part that they make a knock-off part for...
So, to Philthy209 aka Phil, if you are willing to give me back my cash and ammo, you are welcome to take this 'custom' complete upper back off my hands. I know you really didn't want to part with it anyway...or even just $600 cash, an even better deal! Let me know.

If he doesn't refund you, he's most likely not going to do much more business here.

Curious - can we get an update?

I never heard anything back from him. I've 'decided' to keep the upper and live my life. I think it is fair enough to go ahead and leave feedback reflecting my feelings about him with a link attached to this thread. I bought a new magpul buis to replace the fake one he sold me and am basically gonna do my best to make lemonade with these lemons...take care SocomM4 and good looking out, my friend. If nothing else, I've learned a bunch more what to look out for and it's honestly not the first time that I learned by the school of hard knocks and surely won't be the last, but at least this turd will be scrutinized a bit closer by the next guy that he decides to try and deal with...
