Just giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. He did apologize for being short with me before I walked out the door. I've only had this one encounter with him so its hard for me to write him off as being a professional grade jackhole. Who knows if other folks had problems with him. Hopefully management straightened things out with him or maybe he figured it out himself. We'll just have to see next time I walk through the door to do business...Wise is the man, who in quiet times, keeps his knives sharp and close at hand.

I really am glad you got this worked out to your satisfaction. I am. I am the GM at a small motorcycle dealership. I have a very experienced tech and he's A+. Sometimes customers are idiots (not saying you are) and they come in *****ing about something he did or didn't do. My tech cares more than most, but I would NEVER tell a customer that they were pi$$ing me off!! And they do, but that's retail!
I'm glad you got it worked out. I'm protective of my tech. Best tech on the planet. Someone insults him, they insult me and my shop. That was the wrong thing to do for VA. That's all.
Like you said, hope he learns from his mistakes.Last edited by Bikertrash; 10-14-2011, 9:42 PM.Comment

I know this has been dead for a week or so but I thought I would throw in my two cents...
When I read the OP's first post I immediately knew which salesman he was talking about. My suspicion was confirmed this past thursday when I visited the shop and brought up this thread to Mike (their tech). This particular salesman has rubbed me the wrong way since the first time I spoke to him.
However, I just have to say that Valkyrie, for the most part, have always done right by me. Tim, and the other owners, always stand by their work and continue to provide me with some great deals. Also, +1 on Mike being an awesome tech. He's completed several projects for me and I have absolutely no complaints.
I will admit that since they have hired a bunch of new people, including the "salesman" up top (don't want to use his real name), the "feel" of the shop has changed. When VA first opened, the mentality was "check out whatever you want, ask whatever you want, don't worry if your not ready to buy" mentality. To be fair, if you get the right person at the counter, it's still like that. But when I see this one particular salesman, and a couple of the newer folk, it seems like you get the cold shoulder unless you are ready to dish out 2k-3k on an FN Scar, ACR, or some other costly thing at the shop.
Unfortunately, lately he has been the main guy up front so I often go in to VA, look around to see if they have what I want, and then leave. If I see Karl, Felipe, Mike, Tim, or some of the original crew members, I'll ask them the questions and they always give me good customer service.Last edited by atran8400; 10-29-2011, 4:29 AM.Comment

I have had issues with this salesperson as well. He is sometimes helpful, but more times he is crass and rude. Not to mention he was bragging how he wanted to illegally configure a build of his. When I read the OP's first post I immediately knew which salesman he was talking about. Of the new people, I have had good experience with one of the new workers, he has been really helpful and attentive. So there is some hope, lol.Now most of my problems was with one of the employees, she was just extremely incompetent and rude, but I have not seen her in a while. So I will assume she left. I hope.Comment
