Looking for a target that goes "poof!"

I've got lots of Shoot N Cs targets to see the hit but I was wondering what target can I put up that makes a small wisp of smoke? I thought maybe a Necco wafer or an Alka Seltzer tablet. I've seen some of those exhibition shooter fire at aspirin but I cant see that at 100yds.
I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

    Pepsi goes poof.

Use Diet Pepsi and it's not so sticky to pick up the used cans.

I use ground squirrels. Nature's reactive target.
The thing with firearms is that they are not like any other consumer product, simple ownership of one carries a lot of responsibility.

I was going to say this. If you're in Northern CA Sacramento Black Rifle had 2 cases of it. They're $74.00 a case and 10lbs a case.

I've seen guys at the range sprinkling baby powder underneath their shoot-n-c sticker targets.

As lame as they looked, they did get the 'poof' effect from behind the target.

You'd love these. Unfortunately they're no longer manufactured but I still have several cases from the old days. Great fun.

^^^ I remember those! I used to shoot those in Sacramento at the Firing Pin. Good times!

Hmm, baby powder behind the Shoot N C. I'll have to try that. I'm going to put some talc in a baggy and adhere to the back.

2nd that. Even with a 22lr there's a good cloud of dust that comes off them when they're hit.

Also, you could use plastic film canisters (remember those???) filled with flour. At least the flour is environmentally friendly and makes a good poof when hit.

spoonful of flour or baby powder in a baloon works good. Also, small baggies full of dirt with stickers on the outside are fun.
