Sorry, just raggin on ya, this gets asked alot and it's a 60-40 proposition? some are diehards, some are X-diehards =''me'' and some just don't know? then there are ones as yourself, curious seekers. Look up their site and see what they stand for, ask questions like you are, then make a decision.

That's FUD...a simple email or phone call to NRA stops almost all of the "junk mail"

The NRA is fighting for our 2nd Amendment rights. You absolutely should support them. As stated previously, you can get the junk mail turned off.

There are also benefits like insurance deals, American Rifleman magazine, email alerts on important legislation, etc.

I "signed up" for a lifetime membership at the glendale gun show.

Got $2000 in fraudulent charges shortly thereafter (i'm not responsible for any of the charges). Dont know if they're related, but ive never had a fraudulent charge before. And the NRA says they never got my membership application.

Pretty annoyed about it. Not saying the NRA is responsible, but it sure doesnt leave me with alot of confidence in the people they're allowing to use their name...

If you're going to sign up, i'd go through their website or a source you know/trust.

If you own a firearm you should be a member. Some people have excuses for not joining and that is exactly what they are. Excuses.

Both my daughter and I are life members. I joined when I had no money and the cost was higher than it is now as I remember. I paid for Jr membership for my daughter until she asked why cannot she be a life member. I signed her up then and she was about 10 years old.

One of the big benefits I see is of course them fighting for your rights but they also give you free firearms insurance of up to $2000 if I remember correctly.
