    almost committed a felony today

I am now officially homeless and going back on the road for contract work. everything loaded in the motor home and decided to stay in Fresno for a couple of days to help a friend out with the march of dimes mud volley ball setup. Not a nice area,so had the guns loaded in the rig. I was pulling out and realized that they where still loaded. Stop and cleared all the weapons.

Since this is now my home, are the rules different for concealed carry a vehicle if I am stopped, say in a rest stop then if I am in a car. I know that the rules like for open container are different since it is a rolling home. But I would hate to pick up a major hit, just for a traffic ticket.

While I don't expect some leo to search the rig, it could always happen?

I cleared the pistols and laid them on the couch, legal if not in a school zone, but this is so stupid now.

When it's moving the firearm laws apply as If it were any motor vehicle. When it's stationary and set-up at a campground it's treated as your home.

We all average about three felonies per day...

No purple k is wrong. A motor home falls under the same rules as a house the only thing is that while mobile no firearms can be in the cab area or within reach of the driver. Otherwise you can have a loaded firearm in the sink, bed, table etc as long as it is not in the cab or within reach of the cab.

A handgun that is not registered to you in CalDOJ's handgun registry.

                In Fresno?..............LOL!

Unless you are a Ricer or speeding, Fresno PD wouldn't pull you over unless you had a Howitzer barrel poking out a window.

They would want pics to show their buddies!

Got any PC sections that say that?

                  Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong, but I was told that a RV is a car unless it is parked and hooked to utilities, (like an RV park). If no hookups, then it is a car.

what if it is legally unregistered (you bought it before mandatory reg?)

I still would not take the chance of keeping the guns loaded, nor would I take the chance of letting them be unlocked in a GFSZ. Even if it is not illegal, it could cause way more trouble than it's worth

                          That is not entirely correct.

The motorhome is considered a domicile only when "docked"... IE: Set up at a camp site.
Parked at the WalMart parking lot may or may not be convictable, but while on the road, loaded is absolutely illegal.

                            Doesn't matter.
                            It's a poorly written law.
The law does not actually say "unregistered"... the law references "Not registered to you"

The intent was to increase penalties for the use of a stolen gun.
Being 3rd-grade level thinkers, the authors of the law assumed that all legal handguns are registered.

                              I always wondered about this.

I have, in the past, captained a winnebago at 65 mph down I5 with five friends enjoying cards and adult beverages, at the "dining table", all of them un seat belted.

                              Shall I turn myself in?
