    Pelican Cases and Accessories

I'd like to check out some of Pelican's products in-person. Does anyone know who carries their product in the Bay Area (NorCal)?

I've seen them at Fry's, but they have a limited selection.

    Fry's customer service sucks azz.

The other day I was in REI and noticed they had some Pelicans. Prices seemed high; but if you just want to examine them, it doesn't matter.

Also, Starlight and Hardigg make better cases than Pelican.

Oh yeah, Hardigg/Storm cases are nice. . .but then I'd want the injection-molded foam. . .

I like SKB cases - I have two, for guitars. They're great - sturdy and very clean inside and out. Top quality work. The two I have aren't water or airtight, but I am sure they have those models as well. They also cost a little less than Pelicans, from what I can tell, and the two I have aren't foam lined, they are lined with some kind of fake fur type material.

I bought a DOSKO SPORT Double Rifle Case from Cabela's for around 80.00 dollars. I bought it to transport my magnum rifles to the range and back. If you are on a budget, it works. You can safely place soft cases and a range box on top with out any worry of your rifles being hurt. The hinges are lousy, but it works.

STARLIGHT is the way to go.

Reed's in San Jose (The sports shop on Alum Rock, not the indoor range in Santa Clara) carries SKB, Pelican, Browing, Starlight and Doskocil.

Jon, you never did mention what you plan to transport or store in the cases: handguns or long guns.
                My bad sorry...

They also carry Hardigg Storm cases. But you can find better prices on the web.

                    Ted,

I'm looking to transport handguns and longarms.

Thanks for the info about Reed's. I've only 'glanced' at their selection, but I've decided to put a little money into safely transporting my firearms. I'll check them out again.

No, that's his .sig file that automatically posts that, so don't worry, it's a generic phrase that he slings at everyone, not just you.

Are you being serious? Maybe you need to use smilies to show if you're being serious or just joking?
