I can't remember what state it is I want to say its New Jersey you can buy a "preban" and use it there. But California is not like that, it doesnt matter if the magazine is old or not. It matters if you owned it in Cali prior to the ban or not
Yea I reread what you said. I thought you where saying that rimfires where exempt from the magazine law as well. SorrySo you agree with what I said.Comment

Even if you legally owned a 30 round AR mag, you still could not use it in your bullet buttoned AR!
You can't, sorry, thats the breaks. Your options are become a LEO, hope you find some laying on the street, or do it illegally. Also for the ruger. Since I don't have any preban mags and no time machine to get them I'm looking for a way to obtain some.Comment

They go in the same way as the standard ten rounders. If you legally possess any high cap mags for the 10/22 in California you can go ahead and use them. If you don't yet own any large capacity 10/22 magazines then there is no way for you to get any now. You are SOL.__________________

Violence is seldom the answer, but when it is the answer it is the only answerComment

You would insert it like any other mag.
The problem is that if you don't already have the hi-cap, you can't get one. You cannot import or manufacture a hi-cap after the ban date. No one can sell you a hi-cap after the ban date. If you had it previously, it wouldn't be an issue.Comment
