    Marketplace integrity

I'm not sure if this is proper forum or not but: Are there any safguards to making sure the itrader ratings are genuine? Whats to stop someone from using multiple logins or having a buddy post fake feedback to boost their trades? I am, maybe incorrectly, putting alot of stock into those ratings when I'm looking at dealing with someone. It seems like members with less than perfect ratings sometimes get shut out when they post or at least thats how it seems to me.

Nope. I could give you itrader feedback right now if I wanted to.

Of course, would it even be worth the trouble for someone to forge itrader feedback? Once they get one or two bad reviews, everyone will be weary of them.

In order for it to be worthwhile, they have to build up a good amount of feedback, then try to run some scam. (i.e. 15 ACOG's for sale, $400 each.)

I rely on a few things:
    - itrader feedback
    - join date
    - itrader feedback of the members he dealt with

As a rule of thumb, I don't buy high priced items from people with low feedback unless they are local and I can meet them in person.

I also look at post count if the member seems to be fairly active then I would assume he or she is legit so far I have yet to find any scammers rule of thumb though if it looks like a deal is too good to be true odds are it is
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

I have bought a few items from there with no issues but I only buy new items. Private party gun prices are too high for me.

Yeah but I think the op is asking what if you and a friend or friends made a fake thread or real thread and just used it to give fake itrader feedback

that is just one thing to consider, there are plenty of doushbags around here with 9,900 - 10,000 posts, you can only trust someone that has at least 12,000 posts
