Buyer is denied doing a PPT so how much of their money do you give back

I haven't had the experience yet...failing DROS...but I've seen folks who charge a restocking fee. It is like interest on the loan for the gun being off the market during the wait and to cover travel (10%)

My first sale doing a PPT, the buyer was denied, but they got it cleared up after a couple of weeks and still was able to take the gun home.

Give it all back, unless you want to be a douche. Before agreeing to the sale, asking the buyer if they've done a DROS recently can give you some sense if the transaction will complete successfully.

Legally? You are under no obligation to return the money. You may eventually be forced to take the gun back as an operation of law.

Morally? I'd keep a percentage of the price based on the time (and possibly fuel) it took me to complete the transaction, and also factor in if I turned down another buyer for the prohibited person. My time is valuable. I might also consider the reason the buyer was denied, and if the denial was reasonably foreseeable. Ultimately though, it is the buyer's duty to make sure he/she is eligible to purchase before agreeing to buy.

I've noticed that lately a lot of people are selling guns to pay basic bills/living expenses. What happens if the seller has already used the money to pay bills and the buyer is denied?
