Hornady Steel Match ammo should be call Mexican Steel Match, since thats what it is, taking cheap ammo and pulling the bullet tip and replacing it with a match grade bullet, I was thinking of doing some mexican match for my sks just for fun.

The way I understood the term...

Mexican Match referred to a "cheaper" method of creating "semi-match" or handloaded ammo from factory loads.

You pull the round from a factory load, dump & measure the powder, then reassemble with a match projectile & either the same powder or something different/better.

But I want to know is who beside me remembers calling a Pontiac GTO a 'goat' or was that an east coast only name?
Anyone here know what GTO stands for, and where GM/Pontiac stole it .... without googling it?
When the car crowd nicknamed the GTO "Goat", it just frosted them.
