Ammo in LA? For ammo, a drive out to Walmarts in Semi Valley, or Santa Clarita, or out to Duarte/Azuza, or down to the O.C. border.
(Call before hand to make sure they have what you want in stock before you waste your time driving around.)
For poking around looking at stuff or buying cleaning supplies and such, I'd say Rettings is pretty nice. They have a nice selection most of the time. I've found their staff to be pretty helpful, as long as you are not in there when they are busy. Their customer service drops by a big bit if they are busy. I usually don't bother trying to talk to anyone if they are busy.
Turners Reseda is okay if you know what you want in terms of supplies and are going to get in and out. They have a pretty poor selection compared to other Turner's stores. If you have the time, you are better off heading out to the other Turner's stores elsewhere in the LA area.
