because you can shoot a 45 hand gun easily out to 100 yards without the added weight, cost or complexities

A lot of good info here, I thought the idea would have been more popular, with 45 carbines/Smg like the Thompson, Grease gun, HK usc.

I see how the (Ca) changes would make them impractical here.

          A good read.

I bet it would be a perfect arm for the house, or out to 100 yrds.

Also can anyone tell me why the H&K USP only accepts 10 round mags, without being modified?

Disclaimer, I know the Ca law is 10 rounds and under, just wanted to know the reasoning behind it.

The real question is, why aren't there more 10mm carbines. There's only a couple that I know of, and their price isn't cheap.

However, with the advances in new ammo, it's just as viable to run one of the whisper rounds as a SD round instead of a pistol cartridge. But, I'd love to share mags with my G20 and a carbine. It's just too bad Glock doesn't make a high cap G20 mag.

Yeah a H&K Mp5 in 10mm would be nice. I know they make them, but have never seen one.

That's because HK doesn't make a civilian MP5 anymore. On top of that, the 10mm's were ONLY full-auto. I'm not aware of a semi-auto civilian trigger pack.

Even if they made a semi-auto one, it likely would have been an SBR here in the US.

16" HK mp5 carbines would sell all day every single day in every single state here in the US if HK could just pull their head out of their butt.

Seems like many manufactures have been neglecting the carbine market, aside from the M4 clones. Pistol carbines are a great stop gap for many people, and are usually cheaper to shoot.
