Dunno then. That's about what I did, and I get different results. I've seen a couple other threads where people got wildly variable results as well on other forums. That's true of just about every lube however, we're not exactly doing lab science here.
Hard to say what the x factor there is.
The only one I've seen perform exceptionally well on every rust test ever is that Eezox stuff. I can't bring myself to use it on my gun, where I have to apply it frequently, and usually indoors, but I have put it on some marine gear, where I can apply it outdoors without smelling it, and I don't do it more than every few months.
