I Changed a Mind on GB!

I just finished an e-mail conversation with a seller on Gun Broker who had posted "No Sales to CA or anywhere else where not legal". I read his post and wrote to him explaining that his gun was not illegal in CA. He wrote back that he posted that because he sees it all the time in other auctions. I explained that he was not alone in stating no sales to CA and the various reasons some out of state FFLs choose not to sell to CA, including the CFLC and just plain ignorance.

He immediately changed his auction description to "Will sell to anywhere NOT prohibited"! Not a major victory but a victory none the less, ... and I'll take it!

Good job. I have tried in the past but many sellers are just prejudice against California. I can't blame them. Good for you bud.

Good job on seller's part also. He sounds like a reasonable man.

Good job! Now let's work on getting them to convert their guns to roster exempt status; much more of a challenge.

                  Good job.

Most of the guys that wont sell to Ca are just plain lazy. I hate that CFL crap and I wish it didn't exist but in reality it only takes 5-10 minutes though. No reason not to ship to CA, should just charge me an extra $5 bucks since they don't like it.

I'm sure what pisses them off is shipping out a gun and having it returned because it's not on the roster.

It may be asking too much but maybe GunBroker should make a boiler plate statement about certain guns and shipping to Cali. Most of the no Cali sales nonsense is just imitating others with little knowledge of WHY. Us Cali gun guys need all the help we can get!

What was he selling that he thought was illegal here?
