I can't believe PD did something right

My parents had their home broken into four years ago and had multiple items stolen. The criminals did not take the electronics, or the safe, just all the paper work in the house that was readily available and one .357 magnum handgun. However four years later the police department actually found the gun and sent a form to my dad to fill out to get his hand gun back.

I can not believe that the police did something right, other than just being an archivists of a crime, and not really doing anything about it. This just blows my mind. My dad got a letter telling him that his gun is in the local police departments position and he could pick it up. They even waved the regular $25 fee for processing the form to get the handgun back!

If my English is off, I apologize. I am really intoxicated and its 11:32pm on a Friday night.

Dude... you're imagining it. NO PD has ever, nor will they ever, do something right, including moral, and above and beyond.

                Didn't happen.

Would you have gotten them back without the PD?

I cant believe they do something correctly and nicely and you crap on them. Next time you get in a fix call PETA and see if they send a car by.

                      Proof?

Perhaps you can't believe someone else would do something moral and right because you wouldn't?

You're the gun dealer who would deliver a gun to a purchaser whose siblings came in and told you not to release the gun because the purchaser was suicidal or depressed.

Hmm, I thought that was what the 10 day wait was for? And if the purchaser was of sound mind, and the siblings had a beef with the other? I know if I had the oppurtunity to stop my brother from owning guns I would've done so, and he's a LEO. That's all speculation and he had every legal right to hand a gun over to the rightful owner and purchaser.
