    Thinking about buying Hi-Point

So I've been thinking more and more about just getting the full Hi Point lineup (.380, 9mm, .40 and .45) just because. Will I have to turn man card in?
I just think it would be cool to add 4 guns to my small collection for about $600.
Besides, from I'll I've been reading they are actually ok (if you get pass the size, weight and looks). I just don't get why so much gate for them out there. I know that some people will never talk to me again but really...
I just think that the arguments against them are kind of weak.

Off course I would to love to own a Ferrari or a $4k mountain bike but a ford focus still is a car and a schwinn still is a bicycle.

I want to own guns because I like guns and shooting. not because I feel unsafe. I don't want a CCW and actually don't think that everyone is out to get me. The 3 guns that I own are always locked away and not loaded in the nightstand. As a matter of fact I usually just buy enough ammo for the shooting day and don't keep them stocked.

So, if I do get the Hi points, will you guys still tell to me? Will I be required to turn in my man card?

    What do you guys think.

I owned a Hi Point before too, it is good gun for the price, but I would not get a full line up of it. 1 is enough, spend the other $450 on something else.

Nothing wrong with Hi Points except one thing, they're butt-ugly. If that doesn't bother you, than I say: go nuts. If they ever decide to re-design the look of their pistols (and carbines!), I'll buy one of each too.

Nothing wrong with Hi-Point. I keep one in my tackle box. They have a lifetime warenty too.

A gun is a gun. It may not be really reliable and look kind of ugly, but it will do the job just like any other guns.

I was walking around at a gun show a year or two ago and I saw the C9. I figured at the price they were selling it at what the heck I gotta at least try one. I walked out the door at under $150.

First time I took it out I was shocked. I was expection Jennings or Lorcin quality but I was dead wrong. It actually shot pretty well and functioned well too. Oh and I was shooting wolf ammo out of it with not 1 FTE or FTF. Its kind of heavy, unbalanced and uglier than sin, but they function well.

With that said, I can not see anyone buying a few of them. There is a lot to be desired so if you want one for plinking go for it. But I would save up for a better gun if you want to add more to your collection. Food for thought.....when you have multiple caliber hand guns that means you will also have to buy multiple types of ammo too.

Pick up one and see if you like it. You can only get 1 every 30 days anyway, if you find you must have them all after that then go nuts.

Funny story, when I took my wife to buy our first pistol for the house (Glock 17), out of all the guns in the case at the local gun store (HK, Beretta, S & W, Springfield etc.) when she walked in and looked at the case she saw a 9mm Hi-point and said, "I like that one!"

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you like it, then by all means get one.

I'd like to buy one of their 9mm carbines. Looks like fun.

You might have to try some of these interesting Hi-Point tests

I would rather have one quality gun than 4 cheap ones. For me, it is all quality over quantity.
I have bought and sold a few cheap guns to satisfy my curiosity. Jennings J-22, Taurus .38, and a Marlin .22 rifle. All are long gone.
The best in my tiny little collections is a Dan Wesson PM7 (1911 style .45acp) and a Beretta 686E O/U 12 gauge shotgun. These 2 guns give me more pleasure than a truckload of cheaper guns. My only regret is that it took me so long to acquire them. I also own guns by Colt, Ruger, and Bersa.
As always, your money and your choice.

The .40 and .45 are not California approved so you would have to purchase them as a PPT if you can find them. I did not have good luck with the .380 model but heard the 9mm is more reliable. I can say their customer service is awesome.

Sure, buy a hi point if you enjoy having firearms blow up in your hand.

I had a 9mm . Shot over 5000 rounds without a problem. Lifetime no hassle warranty and good people to deal with over the phone. Don't let those who have never owned one influence your decisions..
