Good and amusing posts, thanks guys, section 12025 and 12026.2 PC are what I was looking for with regard to the legality.
The freshwater doesn't sound like an issue to the pistol itself, but I'll be sure to keep the ammo dry. Not sure if I'm daring enough to soak a few rounds, let em dry and see if they fire.
