    Which calibers to keep?

Just wondering, if your collection is anything like mine, you have guns in multiple myriad calibers, both handgun and long gun. If you were to limit yourself to just one handgun caliber and one long gun caliber, what would they be and why?

.357 and .308. Not much you can't do with those calibers.

.357magnum for a handgun, good for practice and for defense if need be.

tied for long gun 45-70/12ga: both are versitle rounds for both defense and for hunting.

            45 acp, and 223.
i was going to say 9mm, and 308.

while, one of each of the choices, is nato standard, i think that close encounters, are more likely, ergo 45 acp. and 223 is more common.
That may be a CG first!

One pistol and one rifle caliber, it would be 9mm and .308.

I would be perfectly content with 9mm since it is lightweight, easy to shoot and I find it perfectly adequate for self defense.

I find .308 to be a fantastic "all around" rifle cartridge.

45apc for a handgun since I already reload a lot of it and my CCW gun is my Glock 36 and my nightstand/camping gun is a S&W 625. For rifle I would say 556/223 since I shoot my AR quite a bit. If I were to cheat I would say 357mag since I reload that too and could use it in a revolver and lever rifle

.38/.357 mag its the same versatile and could be both long/hand gun. Then 12 gauge for everything else.

I wonder how an ar chambered in .357 mag would shoot...

.45ACP (any good reloadable 230g ball will do) and 5.56x45 (M855, or M193, or better both.)

I keep standard calibers only, but I'd be hard pressed to limit myself to 2.

                              22lr, 9mm, 5.56, .45acp, 12ga, .308
