DROS 3 items in 2 weeks?

I'm posting this for a co-worker since his wife doesn't allow him to own firearms so he has to hide it from her (good luck on that one).

    Question:

He DROS 1 handgun(revolver) last week, and he DROS a Rifle today Mon 5/9 and will DROS a shotgun today Tues 5/10, he asked me is this was all legal and not impact either of the process?

I told him Yes, not to worry becuase they are all differnt rules and long guns rifles, shotguns, AR, AR lowers can be bought as much as your wallet allows?

Just wanted to confirm if I was right? Thanks in advance!

It's only handguns that are limited to 1 in 30 days.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Totally off subject but why do they make you demonstrate how to use your new handgun before they hand it over to you but not when you buy a rifle or shotgun?

This never made any sense to me. I mean you can be 18 to buy a rifle or shotgun and need to be 21 for a handgun. Nothing against younger (<21) firearm buyers but wouldn't it make sense to have any gun purchase require the buyer to demonstrate how to safely load and unload ANY firearm they bought?

Its only new handguns that are not private party transfers that are limited to 1 every 30 days. Start buying used.

@Chad68, I can be wrong on this but what I know of with all the anti gun, groups, laws, and people up state whatever stupid laws they can tack onto or guns they would take it.

I wonder the same thing and what I gathered was ever inch counts in making it hard for us to own, buy a firearm. I try not to let it bother me but at times it is frustrating.

@Librarian & dan12580, I guess I was right with the info I provide my co-worker thank you again for clarifying it, much appreciated!

Its harder to shoot yourself with a long gun while trying to unload it.

Last week I bought a G19 and a stripped lower in one day. Like others have mentioned, it's only dealers inventory pistols that require to wait 30 days to purchase another. Your friend is good to go.

From my understanding, for long guns, it's required to have a hunting safety certificate to purchase a long gun. Meaning you should already have a basic understanding of how to "safely" handle a "hunting" weapon, but I've also heard of guys who never took the course and was able to purchase a hunting rifle. As for pistols(don't hold me on this but it's my understanding only) it's by law for the dealer to have you do the safety demo and sign an affidavit that you have performed it.

FUD. I owned 3 rifles and a shotgun before I took my hunter safety course.

Want a rifle? You have money? A valid CA id with your address on it? Okay, see ya in 10 days.

You expect laws to make sense

long guns are fine, no limit.
Hand guns are limited to 1 every 30 days.

So what i do is purchased a hand gun from a FFL. then start buying used guns here during my 30 day waiting period.

You can buy as many ppt handguns as you want w/o a time limit. I've drosed7-8 guns in a week, 5+ in a day. Don't worry about it as long as not violating the 1 non ppt handgun a month law.

It should be mentioned that you can do multiple long guns on the same DROS.
